Larry and Re Hart created Spiced Rye in 2018, after relocating to Central Washington, from the Central Coast of California, where they were founding members of the band “3 for the Road.”  Leaving a bandmate behind, Larry and Re found themselves needing to reinvent their sound, as a duo.  Re’s unique vocals have been described, by many, as having a tone that reminds people of Stevie Nicks, Tracy Chapman, Joni Mitchell, and Margo Timmins, as well as many others.  Along with lead vocals, Re plays rhythm guitar, while Larry plays acoustic lead.

Spiced Rye has well over 30 original songs with what is best described as an Americana/Singer Songwriter sound, but their love for all music has created a vast list of covers, across many genres,... from Matchbox Twenty to Johnny Cash, Nina Simone, Fleetwood Mac, and more.
